In 1905 the mother Käthe Kruse created the first doll, that was made for cuddling, carrying around and to care for - just like a real baby. In 1910 Käthe Kruse was invited to present her dolls in the exhibition "toys made from hand" in Berlin. Her lovely dolls became a big suprising success and Käthe Kruse got famous over night. Her dolls were not like small grown-ups, that should be a role model for the child, but they were a spitting image of the child, which was revolutional at that time. The dolls have been awarded multiple times, for example as "Brand of the Century" and nowadays Käthe Kruse is celebrating its 130th birthday.
